This state-of-the-art facility, set to produce internal combustion, hybrid, and Ferrari's first electric vehicles, signifies a major step in Ferrari's commitment to sustainability and technological advancement.
A Future-Ready Plant
This versatile plant will enhance production flexibility, enabling Ferrari to efficiently integrate and manage the manufacturing of its diverse powertrains. The facility will also produce strategic electrical components, such as high-voltage batteries, electric motors, and axles, crucial for Ferrari's performance differentiation.
Environmental Commitment
Designed to achieve top-tier energy performance, the e-building features over 3,000 solar panels generating 1.3 MW of power. By year's end, the facility will transition to 100% renewable energy. Innovative solutions for energy and rainwater reuse have been implemented, with over 60% of the energy used in battery and motor testing being recovered and redirected to new processes. The plant's construction involved redeveloping an existing site, avoiding additional land consumption and enhancing the Ferrari campus.
Focus on Workforce and Community
Ferrari's dedication to its employees is reflected in the e-building's design, which includes ergonomic workstations, relaxation areas, and training spaces. Collaborative robots and digital twins will support workers, enhancing their roles in the production process. The local community benefits from Ferrari's continuous investments, urban redevelopment projects, and new infrastructure, including a redesigned road network and a 1.5-kilometer bike path.
Architectural Excellence
Designed by MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects, the e-building features a distinctive façade combining opaline and clear glass, allowing natural light during the day and creating a lantern-like glow at night. The building's design adheres to Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles, ensuring cost efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
Ferrari's e-building represents a harmonious blend of technological innovation, environmental stewardship, and community focus, setting a new standard for the future of automotive manufacturing.
