We recently set out on a scenic cruise through the South Bay In Ferrari’s V8 powered shooting brake coupe, the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T. We took this opportunity to test the capabilities of the GTC4 Lusso T and explore the local scenery. From the sweeping roads of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, to the stunning coastline of Redondo Beach, and the lively streets of Long Beach, the GTC4Lusso T delivered a nimble, dynamic, and exhilarating drive.
The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T demonstrated uncompromising handling thanks the Virtual Short Wheelbase and a more balanced weight distribution. The Virtual Short Wheelbase rear-wheel steering systems, similar to that featured in the F12tdf, makes the shooting brake coupe feel shorter and thus more agile. In addition the twin turbo V8 is a more compact powertrain which enables it to be placed lower and further back for an optimized weight distribution of 46% front – 54% rear. These factors made the shooting brake coupe feel like a confident and nimble machine on the sweeping roads of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
The shooting brake platform proved to be very versatile and comfortable as we traversed the varying scenery. It was more than capable of handling the open road but as we entered the busy streets of Long Beach it proved to be a smooth and luxurious ride. This gave us the opportunity to take in the many interior refinements such as the 10.25-inch touchscreen display, optional glass roof and passenger display. At that point, it was evident that this machine is truly dynamic; it can go from hauling four adults and luggage in comfort, to carving the canyon roads in an instant.
Power delivery in the GTC4Lusso T comes from Ferrari’s award winning 602hp twin-turbo V8 which is capable of propelling you from 0-62 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds. This potent powerplant is backed up by a dual-clutch gear box. This combination made for an exhilarating adventure around the South Bay which was further accentuated by the growling exhaust note.
Exploring the South Bay in the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T cemented our admiration for this marvelous machine. With ample space for four adults, luxurious interior treatment, head turning good looks and a twin-turbo V8 that got the adrenaline pumping, There are no compromises to this Ferrari.
